Client Profile + Needs
Taylor Made Re-Entry is a vital local nonprofit dedicated to supporting justice-impacted citizens as they navigate the complexities of life post-incarceration. When they partnered with Yellow Umbrella, their existing website was incomplete, difficult to navigate, and built on a platform that made internal updates nearly impossible. They needed a functional, high-impact digital home that could serve two critical audiences: individuals seeking immediate re-entry resources and law enforcement agencies looking for specialized community training. The project required a sensitive, narrative-driven approach to communicate the founder’s deeply personal mission while providing clear pathways for intake, donations, and volunteerism.
Yellow Umbrella Creative’s Impact
We transitioned Taylor Made Re-Entry to a custom WordPress/Divi ecosystem, creating a professional and highly customizable platform that reflects the organization’s significance. By streamlining the site architecture and focusing on purposeful storytelling, we ensured that life-changing resources are accessible to those who need them most.
Purposeful Web Development & Storytelling: We built a comprehensive site that highlights the organization’s multifaceted impact. This included a specialized About page that honors the legacy of Breonna Taylor and shares founder Dee Dee Taylor’s personal journey, grounding the organization’s mission in authenticity and trust.
Service-Oriented Information Design: We developed a clear programming page for case management, employment support, legal assistance, and housing. This page was designed to be intuitive for justice-impacted individuals and their families to find resources quickly and begin the intake process through integrated digital forms.
Strategic Audience Segmentation: The platform effectively balances the needs of the community with the professional resources Taylor Made provides to law enforcement. We created a distinct section for law enforcement training, positioning the organization as a key partner in improving community-police relations.
Operational Empowerment & Training: Focusing on long-term sustainability, we trained the internal Taylor Made team on how to manage their new platform, allowing them to independently update board member information, add upcoming community events, and manage site content in real-time.
